The project.
The property to be developed here is located in Mestre (Venice) and owned by Venezia Due Srl. The plot stretches over 131,510 square metres in total and is located in direct proximity to Parco San Giuliano, one of the world’s largest urban parks. Parco San Giuliano is connected with the Laguna Veneta and offers wonderful views of Venice's historical city centre. The project concept for the plot was developed over a number of years by an international, interdisciplinary, intercultural project team made up of architects, town planners and consultants, and envisaged a high-quality resort specialising in congresses and events. This vision was presented to the Mayor of Venice in October 2016, with great success. The planned resort aimed to sustainably increase value creation through tourism in Venice. This was to be achieved by offering the best possible price, by encouraging guests to stay for longer periods, by lessening seasonal fluctuations, and by achieving a good mix of international, national and local guests.

The project also sought to positively impact the tourism strategy pursued by the city of Venice. Katja Schellknecht Konzepte GmbH was principally tasked with overseeing the joint development of the main project idea, which was to establish the resort in Mestre as both a destination and a brand. Venice eVent. An urban resort in Mestre. Two international hotels. Luxury apartments. Spaces for cultural activities and events. Lifestyle club. Marketplace for skilled trade providers and other sectors. Green spaces. Venice eVent as an up-and-coming neighbourhood. A place at which to live life to the full. Young. Creative. Vibrant. Authentic. Offering views of St Mark’s Square. Electric water taxi to the historic centre. Variety. Encounters. Guests and residents. Privacy and neighbourhood. Space for recreation. For experiences and enjoyment. For residential and overnight stays. For working and studying. Venice eVent. An urban resort in Mestre. Sustainable. Comprehensive. Sincere.
